AM Hunt

Figured I'd give the bow hunters a chance to hunt a little before I hit the woods so I slept in till 8:30 am when the Mrs woke me up. Jumped in the shower then grabbed a quick bite and tossed Baxter in the truck. As soon as I got out of the truck I heard one barkin at me.. Once the collar linked up I cut him loose. He was treed in less than 45 seconds.. bad thing was I couldn't see the squirrel for all the DANG LEAVES !!!!!!!! Tree after tree the same result... Finally he makes a tree and I see the sq... OPPPPS I LET IT GET AWAY !!!! Sorry Baxter. Couple more tree with tooooooooo many leaves and then he finally trees and I shoot up in the tree and the sq takes off... POW POW... Sq still running... then I hear someone whistle at me... Ok no big deal he's not the way I'm shooting.. POW then two more whistles... OK OK I HEAR YA I TELL HIM.... Now where's my sq?? DANG IT.... As I start into the next tree I see the sq on the run before I even get close to the tree.... I watch and wait for it to stop but it never does offer me a shot. I bet it timbered 50 yards or more before I lost it... Ok that's 3 sq's and NO MEAT fo Baxter. I'm not having a good day... I start heading back to the truck thinkin CRAP GONNA GET SKUNKED TODAY !!!!!! When Baxter comes treed again.... YIPPIE I SEE THIS ONE!!! POW POW POW.. Down drops the sq.... WHEWWWWWW NOT SKUNKED.....

Baxter made 11 trees, I saw 4 of them and only ended up with one..

Just before I get to the truck I come up on the Granddad and his grandson. They were still hunting.. So I offered the grandson my sq being a HECK OF A NIVCE MAN THAT I AM..... They walk back to the truck with me and we stand there talking for a bit. The Granddad wants to hook up and go one day and watch baxter run. Seems he use to have a Feist when he was a kid...
