We made apple butter last weekend, ended up with 235 pints.

There ain't a buttermilk biscuit within 100 miles that will be safe this winter with that stockpile of apple butter in the pantry. We make us some but do it in a big crock pot. That copper lined cook pot, how old is that? That's a nice setup for doing it outside with the fire. Thanks for posting that. Anything cooked outside is way better than the same thing cooked indoors (Willsey's Law of Fire Cooked Vittles).

Its a 40 gallon pot.

it's only about 6 years old I think. the brother in law had it made. One of the other Bro In Laws has a 30 gal kettle.
