Facebarking

Would you consider facebarking fighting?

My dog facebarks a little. I hunted him with a rough dog 1 time and they got into it. We shouldn't have hunted the 2 together... but like hard headed Americans we did lol.

The rough dog will let another dog tree with him if the other dog does not want on the tree. We are almost posotive the rough dog started the action but we did not see anything and when I got accross the creek mine came 10 yards off the tree and started to tree again.

I then hunted with an older dog about a week later. Mine face barked a little, and got the boot for it. The old dog never looked over. My dog has never been into a fight while hunting with another dog besides the 1 time.

My dog has treed with other dogs and never once facebarked.

How concerned would you be if this was your dog?
I figure if he will not fight and any other dogs he hunts with will not fight, his facebarking should not be a big deal.

About 80% of the time my dog is and has been hunted alone his whole life.

What are your thoughts?

The simple answer to your question is no face barking is not fighting but it could start a fight. Some dogs will tolerate it and some dogs wont. It is a problem that I would correct.

sometimes dogs do this when u get to the tree because there jelish they think there doning good. and thats there tree if you boot him for it before it gets bad you want have a fighter. most of my expeince with face barking stated because of a lot of petting around the tree just keep hunting him and booting he be alright hope this helps. and no i dont think face barking is fighting it just gets a lot of crap started
