Testosterone Shot for a Stud Dog

Anyone ever have any luck getting a dog to breed a female by giving them a testosterone shot?

Trying to breed my female to my 10 year old male dog and lord knows he is giving 110% but just can't get the old gun to fire. Vet recommended this shot and said to try him again late tonight or in the morning and he should be able to get the job done.

Usually, that means that the female is not ready. The shot can help to get her bred, but if he has no sperm or they can't swim then it won't help. But then, a good shot of testosterone never hurt anybody. (Unless you are an Olympic athlete and you get drug tested.)

She is willing and ready. Has been standing for him like a statue since early yesterday, wouldn't stand before then. Today is her 14th day so I'm hoping he can get it done before she goes out.

You are right in that he may be dried up but were going to give him every chance to get it done.

I would try to Collect on him then give him about 6-8 hours to recharge..

Fresh Sperm would have a better chance Exp. if he has'nt ejaculated in a LONG time ...

Sometimes The Old Pipes new a Cleaning First ...

Several AI Vets. have Recommend this approch on Older Males ....

Heck it Works For Me !!!! Oh well I'm Cut anyhow !! LOL

This may leads to the serious problem if it was left like that. The levels of the Testosterone should be maintained properly for any to get rid of many other problems . As far as my knowledge is concerned, The level should be equal to 40% for any one. If there exists any deficiency in its levels it may leads to many problems. Produce some more attachments for more detailed view.
