Queston for Jed or whoever

Dogs a, b, c, and d are struck in.
Dog a splits off on his own rabbit while b, c, and d stay together on there rabbit.

Dog a gets a line and scores it so he gets caught and turned back to the pack of others.
Before dog a gets struck in the rabbit starts squeeling. Non hunting judge yells out rabbit is caught as dog a starts barking and gets struck in... The rabbit was recoverd and had been cought.
Does dog a get his strike points?

If a dog gets a line and catches the rabbit as soon as he crosses it the other hounds get a minute to get the line before the line
is dead?

If a dog jumps a rabbit and the cast see it. The rabbit runs into a hole the other dogs get 3 minutes to strike in before the track is dead?

As soon as the judge declares rabbit caught that track is dead. If Dog [a] wasn't struck in yet, then track should be considered dead. Handle all dogs for re-casting.

When a dog scores a line the remaining dogs have 1 minute to score before the line is declared dead.

If a dog jumps a rabbit that is seen by majority of cast, and is struck in, and rabbit goes to hole, you don't have to run the clock for 3 minutes. Track can be considered dead. Tough break for other dogs.

Thanks for the info Harry... the one thing I dont get is on the rabbit in the hole question. You CAN run the clock? Is it stated anywhere if you have to run the clock or not? It seems like that can be a huge loophole if it is up to a judge on running the clock or not. jmo

whoops I misread..no track is dead if only 1 dog is struck and the cast sees the rabbit go to hole,

Who has the right to call a abvious split track??.CAN THE HANDLER call the split or DOES THE JUDGE have to be the one to call the split??..

Had the rabbit go to a hole question happen to me. UKC said that once that rabbit was seen going to a hole/place of refuge by majority of the cast the track was over and no dogs can be scored. (DO NOT RUN CLOCK) They also said if the majority did not see the rabbit go to hole/place of refuge than you would need to run the clock.

Makes sense to me cause if we were out pleasure hunting I would not want to wait 3 minutes to see if my hound could run a track that has already been ran.

hounds name is "I win"... he is a good one! Id say on that question, turn em all loose and lests have a large pack, last dog standing is the good one..lol (P.S. I got confused with the A.B,C thing right off the bat)

and yes the dogs get a minute 2 cross line unless rabbit is killed
and u must run 3 minute clock even thou the rabbit has holed
