The adventures of 'PR' Wiley's Hillbilly Jack and friends

Here is a pup out of GCHGNTCH Stringer's Hillbilly Jabo that I am absolutely happy with.

His name is Wiley's Hillbilly Jack and I'll be posting photos as the kill season goes along.

Enjoy.

Here are some pictures from last nights hunt. All of the pups showed progress and Duke did a great job, yet again, getting them to the coon.
Jack (10 months)

I need to thank Larry Stringer for allowing me the opportunity to own this pup. I thoroughly enjoy him. I really do owe you one on him Larry.

24 September 2011

Two trees in stuff so thick I we couldn't even come close to seeing the majority of the tops. They picked a couple of rough ones tonight.

Jack did a pretty good job on both trees tonight. He treed decent on the first and did about the same on the second. The little Plott dogs did pretty good as well, the black one actually treed a little on the first tree when he got tied back.

That second tree was, as some would call it, "yonder". The second tree we made tonight was right at 1.45miles from where we cut them loose...I would rather them not crossed the roads, but they believed it was there and I couldn't see enough to say otherwise.

All in all it was a good night.

Nothing to report tonight, it was a clean washout. It hasn't stopped raining all day or night.

Hillbilly Jack's littermate Jenny

Kent, Jenny's first real fight with mr. ringtail. made him jump out into the creek. and it was on. she did a really good job for a 10mo old. so i hung it up and let her tree it again. LWS.

Went last night, nearly full moon and clear skies...thought it was going to be rough. However, it turned out to be a good night.

Took the Molly dog out with Duke and Jack. She did a good job of getting out and doing some investigating at first. I had to go collect up my dogs as they had taken to the hills....once I set them back out Jack struck a track and Duke chimed in. When they treed Jack treed for real, he rolled over and started to chop for me. When we got there he was stuck to the tree like the old man. I was super proud of him.

Unfortunately the tree was soo thick, and there was a hole in it, so we didn't get to shoot it out....oh well we'll try again here in a little bit.

Had a rough weekend. Jack has a swollen eye and we'll see if he put it out tomorrow at the vet. But the good news is he really did well the night before and the night of his accident. He was on his own track and was doing a good job of it too.

KENT

WHEN I WAS HUNTIN' JANE FOR BO BENNETT, I THOUGHT FOR SURE SHE HAD LOST HER EYE IN AN ACCIDENT SIMILAR TO JACK'S. THINGS TURNED OUT FINE IN A WEEK OR SO. HERE'S HOPING JACK'S RECOVERY GOES AS WELL AS HER'S.

HAPPY HUNTIN'.

How is Jack

doing? I hope his visit at the vets was a good one and everything turned out. I got all the tests back on Chief and it came out negative. Hes still under the weather and all they could say is if he takes a turn for the worse bring him back in. It seems whenever I have bloodwork done it shows up negative. Take care and let me know how Jack is. Coon season is Midnite tonite here.

Posted by redbonemanII on 10-14-2011 07:23 PM:

Jack is good. His eye has some scar tissue that will just come off here in a day or two. They put some dye in his eye and checked it out to confirm it wasn't an open cut. He was cleared to hunt this weekend.

I'll be on my lonesome this weekend so he should get some good hunting in with little to no distractions.

Glad to hear that Hank hasn't got something bad. Hopefully he's just got a bad stomach ache and will come back around here soon. Best of luck Dave.

I had a GREAT hunt tonight. I took my 4year old son out with me and he did a fantastic job! I was super proud of him.

Duke and Jack got one treed and I got the fur to their mouths. I'll post up some pictures tomorrow.

Hey

Jack is a good looking dog. Looks like your boy loves to hunt. I like the pic with your boys hand on the back of the dog. Is he a Redbone guy or does he just like them all. It reminds of when my son was that age. Sure do miss them being young like that. We went last nite and something scared the pups during the first drop and they wouldnt leave my side the rest of the nite. There was alot of coyotes at the first drop so I dont know if they bothered them or not. Tell your boy, great job. It brought a big smile to my face when I saw these pics. He sure seems to be a very happy young man. Likes spending time with dad which is great. This is what its all about. Take care and your mail box is full.
