Snakebite!!!

Seems like this time of year is about the worst in my area. Had a little walker female bit tonight and barely missed getting bit myself. Saw 4 cottonmouths and several watersnakes in a quarter mile of creek.
I gave her a child size dose of Benadryl and a stout antibiotic, does anyone have any additional recommendations? I've treated several this way with good results, but I'm always open to something better...

A raw egg always settles the stomach and someow helps the recovery.
Used it for years.

Team Trouble

If you can find turpentine you can flip the bottle right up over the bite and hold it there it will draw out most of the poison. Then mix up milk, egg, bacon grease get it warm and feed it to them. That was a remedy from my grandpa, we had a golden lab get bit by a copperhead and he made it... Good luck!

most all copperhead bites are survivable with no treatment at all, in most dogs. Its a size and poison dosage/potentibilty thing. Cottonmouths are the same, however there are exceptions. Canebrake rattlers in this area, with proper treatment being timely, again most hounds will overcome the bite. Eastern Diamondback bite, my experience proves you will need a shovel soon. Yes, i have heard of some dogs surviving the bite of the eastern, but it is a very rare thing. Every dog i have ever had bitten by one, is no longer with us due to the bite.

SOME INSURANCE AND PEACE OF MIND WOULD BE TO INVEST IN THE SNAKE BITE SHOT AT YOUR VET.
