Fur prices
I was just wondering on fur prices this year havnt heard alot about them latly.
There will be somebody on here that says they are $20-$30 this year.DONT BELIEVE IT.It sucks that the prices are so low, thats why all the farmers see so much damage to there crops. If the price was higher i would shoot more out.I would bet the pricce will be around $12-$14 for a jumbo, they probably wont even buy the kittens so should just leave them in the tree.

HIDE PRICES
THE LAST TEN I SOLD LAST YEAR, THE END OF JANUARY AVERAGED$19.50. WE LIVE CLOSE TO ONE OF THE BIGGEST BUYERS IN THE COUNTRY. THE REASON ALOT OF YOU GUYS SEE LOW PRICES IS THAT YOU ARE SELLING TO A LOCAL BUYER(MIDDLE MAN). HE HAS TO MAKE MONEY AND THE REASON FOR LOWER PRICES. THE LOWEST I AVERAGED LAST YR WAS$13.00 ON THE FIRST 45 COON WE SOLD, THEY KEPT CLIMBING FROM THERE. <v>

How do I go about finding a buyer?
I also got 20 to 25 $ for my coon last year I only shot 17 out and sold 15 of them kept my two biggest ones they are both over 40# I am thinking of getting them mounted or having rugs made out of them. I think the fur has alot to do on the price you get. The colder it gets the thicker the fur gets and size of the coon its self helps.
This was one of the last ones I shot its over 40# and was shot just as it was warming up this last spring and right before the fur starts thinning.(the pup wighed right at 52# at time of pic)

Haven't sold a coon in over 10 years. I give most of them to hunting partners or the neighbor boys. The coon hide selling was a big deal to me years ago. I sure enjoyed messing with them and making a few dollars for the effort.

Depends on Russia and China and if they are motivated to buy.
I am actually making a fur tumbler with an old dryer for the fur shed this year. If you put up fur and take pride in it, there are a few dollars to be made.

depends on state and region..southern boys might better let most walk..midwest area should start in the country about 10 to 15 for good well grade put up coon..selling to say grony in ill. you might see 20 to 25..eastern fluffy thick coon about 10 in the country and 20 might be had if sent out. green skin and in the round wont see much..as for the yote guys you will see a good jump this year all around and the big northeastern "wolfy" yotes might get to 30 again for good put up well grade fur..western pale yotes are looking good as i have seen in a long time..fox both red and grey are going to be good as well..bob cat will be in the tops with good fur put up..hope this helps a bit..oh and the trappers will be after the rats again this year with highs around 8

Wow went to our biggest fur buyer last year there was a big poster on the front door that said not buying yotes. Took in 20 coon first week of hide season got 10 bucks straight across 15 out of the 20 were XXL. I gave the rest away to kids the rest of the season. I hope they don't bring crap maybe some the trappers will stop wasting their time and gas.
