A breeding Success { Hill Shakers Little Candy Girl }

On 8/9/2011 and 8/10/2011 HBCH PCH Hill Shakers Little Candy Girl has been bred to A Jigs Male { Frechmans Zacary Last } Zac has All the qualities I needed to add to Candy making a awesome hunting machine. I will be selling some of the pups and if you are interested you can contact me 614 276 4996 or PM me. I am sure this is a nice cross and I am sure the pups will turn out to have line control, LOTS AND LOTS of hunt, and speed. I'm really excited about Candy having pups, Can anyone tell me how long should I wait to run My hound now that she has been bred? Will just thought I would share this news with you all. Thanks Jim

Hey Matt everyone does not have a masters degree in breeding hounds like you do. And to answer your question yes I have done 2 or 3 years researching pedigree's and looking at stud hounds. I have seen many awesome stud hounds out there and coal was one of my picks, but with coal I just did not like his color. I know coal has a dominating gene " he throws a lot of black and tan pups" I just did not want to take that chance. My agenda, goals have been set on getting a tri color pup and I waited and waited tell I got it right. I did not just settle for just anything knowing what I needed to put in Candy's pups I was dead set on getting this right being patient and researching all these pedigrees I am sure this is going to be something I am really going to be content with. Other people I know in ukc , Akc have been so helpful to me in my research just to name a few and to give thanks to all of you are Max Thornsley, Jerry Kelly, Steve write, Scott Fluehart, Dave Hummel, Dave and Donny Mcvay, Larry Hicks, Denny Dugan, Kevin Watkins, Trevor Adams, Shawn Ohlinger And there are others that helped me knowing my hound gave me there advice was helpful. Matt to say woopsy about my choices that I made in breeding Candy I would have gave it some thought if you new what I really needed But you don't. Don't take this in a bad way I'm just letting you know it's not write to say something like that if you don't have any knowledge of this breeding. Just be happy for me and Candy and wish me luck it's not hard to do. Matt if you are interested in a well researched bred pup let me know and I will book you a winner. Thanks. Jim

Hi Matt, Sorry if you thought I was getting worked up about what you said "I'm not" And I'm glad to see you are having a good time with all of this as well. The names I have pick out for my pup are to drive Trevor crazy, he said if I put Candy's name in with the pups name he will go crazy. He said he will haft to here that name for another 10 or 15 years. I told him if you ever get a good hound he could be in the spotlight as well LOL! Yes you are so right about keeping it fun, that is what I always try to tell people Remember " It's All About Having Fun" Steve Write always teased me about that he would say " Jim It's all about having fun" and I would have a big Grin. Hey Matt thanks for all of your help in the past as well, I have learned a lot from you to. I told Trevor I will be taking a step back in trialing my hounds, getting back to the basics, just hunting my hounds having fun with friends, my puppies and of course my Candy Girl. I might run a lot of AKC stuff with my new pup giving some competition to Arlie Thompson, Denny Dugan, Larry Hicks and all the others out there. How are your new pups doing out of Butkus? Butkus was another stud hound I had on my list as well but I wanted to have something different, Everybody was breeding to Butkus " can't blame them" He is a nice hound. well Matt it has been nice talking to you and when we see one another I'm sure it will be nice talking to you some more. Hey theres nothing wrong with what you said about taking a couple step back away from trialing and getting back to the basics and just do some hunting with friends i have been doing that for the past year and hafe and enjoyed it . Glad you got her bred, We have hunted them right up till the day they deliver, but only running solo..and for 2 hours or less.
I was hunting with Larry Elliott and Ash quit the track they were running, went to the garage and started having pups, thats a little extreme not suggesting you do that.
There was a thread on here not to long ago about saying if you run the female while they are carrying pups it will imprint on them.

I want to keep her in shape as much as i can with out hurting Candy or the pups. This Lady needs to come back and finish what she has started. Some folks say breeding her would make her better in the field, I don't really know about all that but if that is true " I can deal with that just fine " I am going to run her some and keep it short for her. I think giving her exercise will be good for her " Don't ya think"? If Candy Girl has a red pup I'm going to name it Hill Shakers little Candy 2 HA! Just kidding around. Thanks folks this is so exciting for me, Having a good time with it.

Is Imprinting Something like, When the momma hound is running a rabbit the pups can here it and " It's what you are calling a Imprint"? I would say that can be true. Thanks Kelly for the kind words. Jim
