No Bark Collar ?

What is the most reliable, effective no bark collar that will hold up?

.

Had a long conversation with a Tri Tronics Representative yesterday about my thoughts on their collars. I told them that they use to be the collar of my choice. But because of some issues with the Tri Tronics Bark Collar after you replace the batteries I personally use the Dogtrs YS 500.
After our conversation he made me feel comfortable that Tri Tronics does listen to what the customers say and from past conversations on this board and research, some internal improvements have been made to prevent further problems.
I have three brand new Dogtra collars charging but they are going back in the box and I am going to give Tri Tronics another try.

At this point I would say either Collar would be a good choice but one you have to charge every two weeks and the other one you don't.

One very important thing is getting the collar adjusted to the dogs neck size. Please don't get it two tight and wear sores in your dogs neck. On the other hand too loose and they won't work but don't blame the collar. Just readjust one hole at a time till you get it right!!

Happy Hunting!!

Same here. They last longer and stay charged a long time. I had a bad barker here one time. He was bred right and had enough heart and drive for 3 hounds. Full of pee and vinegar.. He evidently had a high pain threshold. The el cheapo collars wouldnt keep him quite. He would laugh at the tri tronics. He would not bark through the dogtra on high though. I'll never keep one like him again but I learned my lesson on bark collars!!

i'm have trouble charging my dogtra's after the first charge, had them on the charger for a week and the light never changed showing they were charged,2 of them with different chargers doing the same thing,,did they have a bad batch of batterys go in them at the factory or what??

the chargers say 12 volt output, measures 17volt without load.
i checked ebay online for batterys and they say they are 3.6 volt.
why would they have 12 volt chargers for 3.6 volt batterys??,,
something not adding up right here..

i know when they are working they are the best, will put a dog on its knees if it dont have enough smarts to stop barking..

Dogtra for me. I've went through 3 tritronics bark collars over the last few years they just don't hold up. These Dogtra ys 500 are nice. Seems like I get better results also from the dogs.

Bill

Bill I started to post this last night but figured I would call dogtra this morning.

The YS 500 light does not change colors when finished charging.
It states in the manual once you give it the initial charge to never charge over 4 hours.

The YS 300 does go to flashing mode I think when charged.

I have been using Sportdog NoBark 10r collars for two years now. I bought two collars two years ago and one needed a new battery a month ago. I found a battery on the Internet for $17.00 shipped and it's working again. I found the collars on ebay for $69 each with free shipping. Farm stores want $100 each.
