My buddy has a female that should drop pups by the weekend. We gave her a good bath yesterday and seen a few fleas and we was wonder if we seen fleas on the pups what could we put on them that wouldn't hurt the pups thanks

Bath them in Dawn dishwashing soap. It's the only thing I know of that will kill fleas and can be used on pups less than 6 weeks old. It want keep them off but it will kill everyone on them when you bath them.

It's what we used on our pups. a few hours before the new owner came to pick them up.
Don't wash them too often or you'll dry their skin out and cause more problems.
Also,we used the Bayer Tree and Shrub on the Dam a few days before they were born and there was not a flea on the pups.

you can use frontline on the mother and it will keep the flees and ticks away. i had a pit bull that was covered in flees and was afraid to use any thing on her but the vet gave me some front line and it didnt hurt the pups and it got rid of the flees.

I would be careful bathing very young puppies. You need to make sure they either can generate their own heat or for you to provide an alternate heat source to prevent very young puppies from hypothermia. It doesn't have to be cold outside.

had that problem a few years back with pups and fleas. took some fells napha soap and made up a solution then used a fine toothed comb and combed the pups with the solution. took the fleas off them without hurting them or the mother.
don't know about the dog house with the pups in it but about twice a year we treat the yard and the kennel with hydrated lime. this kills the fleas in the ground. have very few flea problems.

get you some red ceader chips put in her box thats all i use and never have a flea problem jmo

My experience with cedar chips is -- fleas love it. I had a flea problem on mom and pups one time and this female vet that many of us use to know -- and I have great respect for -- told me in private to go ahead and use frontline. I did and had no problems. I'm not telling YOU to do this however. Do it at your risk.

using cedar shavings to keep fleas off is a Myth...... As was asked earlier are you putting the female back in the.same house she was in or are you putting her in a whelping house? Cause if your putting her back in the same house without getting rid of the fleas your wasting your time.

not saying your not right but i dont use no kind of flea meds on my dogs just the ceader chips and you wont find a flea on them my vet told me that fleas has became immune to the front line she has me alternate between front line and advantage on our little shitzu jmo

You have your opinion and I have mine based on our own experiences. Yes, you are right about them becoming immune. I've been there and done that too. If you ever see me giving bad advise be sure to correct me.

bluedogman your right your everybody has thier own opion wasnt trying to start a fued with you lol like you said every body got thier own opion what works for 1 may not work for some 1 else
