Lymes

Boy's this isnt nothing to joke about. I got bit last Thursday nite and I found the tick Friday afternoon in the shower in my arm pit. I started feeling bad Sunday evening and when I woke up Monday morning it was on. I have had fevers dizziness, awefull headaches joint and muscel pain disoriantation. I finnialy went to the ER yesterday morning and they took blood and gave me 2bags gulcose in an IV and something for my joints. The Dr called this morning and told me my blood work came back and that I had Lymes Desiease spelling is off I know but you get the point. Today when i woke up i was haveing severe arthritese in my hands and knees. Dr gave me some Antibiothics and said to just wait it out. I have had the FLU and been sick before but this mess takes the cake if any of you guys have had it you know what I mean but if you have never had it before I pray you dont. please guys make sure you check your self over good after every hunt or just being out in the yard. One little tick has put me out of work for a week now and has really done a number on me im still sick and pray that it breaks soon cause I cant take much more. I always picked on the guys that said they were scared of ticks and that wouldnt hunt in the summer, Ill probialy still hunt during the summer but I have a new found respect for TICKS>

Lyme

I contacted lyme disease this past fall. Treatment with doxycyline took 5 months to get over it. Pursue a doctor that will treat it aggressively. Had a friend that had it and his doctor just treated him 1 month and he felt better for a while but it came back. The bacteria will hide from short term antibiotic treatment. It builds a coocoon around it self and will hide in the bone. It will take atleast 4 to 5 months to get over it. I still hunt year round but take extra precaution and use Avon skin-so-soft rubed down all over and then use a comerical insect spray that has permethrin in it also. Just like dixiewalker1 says this is nothing to ignore. The side effects are horrible.

P.S. vaccinate your dogs for it also. We lost a good female to it and have a friend that has a pup with it right now.

Guy's I would not wish how I feel on anyony the headaches are so bad it takes everything I have in me to even take a shower Iv had to start takeing baths cause I cant stand up long enough to shower. Keep your self checked good cause it only takes one tick bite to bring a man down much less one of our kids catching it.

Lymes is nothing to over look PLEASE BE CAREFUL GUY'S!!!!

Here in Minnesota we have 4 tick deceases, all four can kill you and I can't even pronounce three of them.

Lyme

I am so glad you found out quickly what was your problem. When I became sick with lyme I ignored it as long as I could then went to my doctor. He ran the test for lyme but it came back negative so I just said I would get over it with time. After another 11 months I gave in again and returned to the doctor saying I think something is killing me! With new tests his diagnosis came back that I now had chronic lyme. His advise then was to go to a lyme specalist that may be able to cure me as he did not have the knowhow. This was 2 years ago and many thousands of dollars I am still being treated. In fact I just returned tonight from out of state treatments that seem to be helping. To see what this disease can become I suggest going to lymenet.org

I recently came into contact with a tick myself, It was trying to bore into the back of my head and I noticed it after a shower. About two days later I began to feel awful and eventually I didnt have enough energy to eat which costed me a trip to the ER, They immediately treated me with Amox. and I got put on a 10 day dose. First test came back negative, im still waiting on the second test to come back. IT IS BY FAR the worst you will ever feel, Ive had colds flu's and suffered with allergies and sinus all my life, and NOTHING absolutely nothing makes you feel as bad as it does. My advice, if you get bit by a deer tick, just go to the docs and get advice or tests, Ive read where if treated within 1-3 days of a bite, Amox or Doxy will eliminate it before it spreads.

I've started drinking vinegar every day. They say a tablespoon a day will keep ticks and chiggers off. So far its done the trick and they are bad this yr. I hope you guys get to feeling better soon.
