Hunt Senario?

4 dog cast.

Dog A has 500+

Dog B has 300+

Dog C has 100+

Dog D is withdrawn.

10 minutes left in the hunt.

Cast the three dogs and A is struck for 100, B for 50 and C for 75.

with 3 minutes left in the hunt B is treed for 125 and C for 75. A is not treed in time because the hunt time expired even though there was 2 minutes left on the tree.

Cast gets to the tree to score it and A is there also treeing. The coon is found.

What are the final scores for the 3 dogs?

I would score it
Dog A 500+
Dog B 475+
Dog C 250+

I would score A strike like any other when the time runs out

Scoring

Hunt time was up and dog A was not declared treed. So points would be Dog A 400 plus. Dog A got minus 100 for being handled at a tree with coon seen. Dog B 475 plus. Dog C 250 plus. Section 17 on back of scorecard states when time is up go directly to tree. The tree was closed since hunt time was up. You still get 10 minutes to score the tree but it was closed.

No dog A's points where deleted as soon as the clock run out. He had no points to minus.

Handled at tree

I am not arguing with anybody. When the tree was closed and Dog A was handled at tree with coon seen how can you just delete the strike points or plus the strike points if dog was not declared treed.

Pretty simple answer. If more judges would remember this one simple fact a lot of misunderstandings would be avoided

Rule #1
You simply can not minus a dog for a situation that it is not possible to earn plus points for.....

Since the hunt time had expired, there is no way the dog could get plus points for that tree.....so it simply can not be penalized by giving it minus points.

You can't apply the stationary on the dog prior to the hunt time expiring, because there were already two dogs declared treed on that tree....

The handler can not tree the dog after the hunt time expires.....

If the dog is trailing when hunt time expires, those points are
deleted....

Since there is no way for the dog to receive plus points for that tree...you simply CAN NOT MINUS him.....To me, it's not any different than if the dog were to come in to the cast after the time had expired...you can't minus the dog. THE HUNT TIME HAD EXPIRED.....
