Not at all
We have a wild rabbit that hangs out around the kennels. He will run back and forth and tease the dogs. They will bark and try to play with him. When they get bored with it dogs lay down and rabbit goes on to eat grass at the edge of the concrete. As far as hunting no problems with rabbits in the woods. I have been told a tame rabbit and a wild rabbit don't smell the same. I don't know about this just what I have been told. A dog will experience millions of smells in the woods you can only shelter them for so long.

In the early sixties when i started following these hounds it was common practice to start pups letting them run rabbits to teach them how to track. Then, hopefully they would start treeing squirrels and again, hopefully they would break themselves off of rabbits.Sometimes they needed a little help on the stoping of running the rabbits, lol.

Just don't feed it to him. You will have a lot more problems with your wife then you will with your pup.LOL!

You can't fix STUPID!
If the pups ears start to stand upright, his back legs over grow the fronts and he becomes a fool for carrots then you got problems. And don't eat the chocolate easter eggs next spring...yuck.
no.
I live in town and have tons of rabbits around my kennel all the time, if anything I think it would help your dog to ignore them in the woods. My dogs pay no attention to them and I have a few that live under the shed the dogs boxes are in. Even my beagle somewhat ignores them when he's tied out or in the kennel.
WE ACTUALLY TAKE OUR PUP ON WALKS AND LET THEM DO WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO.
WE HAVE 2 9 WEEK OLD PUPS THAT Q TOOK FOR A WALK THE OTHER DAY THAT JUMPED AND RAN A RABBIT FOR A LITTLE WAYS. HE SAID IT WAS THE FUNNIEST THING!
IT'S GOOD FOR THEM TO EXPERIENCE THINGS LIKE THAT.
