skeet update

i ran him yesterday, boy i am telling you, he learns soooooo quick. he is not milling around the tree anymore, just on it. it took just one time to figure that out. he does check around the tree, i watched, for tracks leading out then he hits the tree and stays there. i have never been soooooo happy in my life. this boy knows. and JOHN, thanks. for a real young dog, i love having him. he is my buddy through thick and thin and you know it.
to hear that big ole bawl mouth and see the frothy jaws that make him look like he is rabid, makes me get goosebumps in 70 degree weather. he has a heck of a locate also(so i learned, lol, and his tree is just deeper and meaner, gotta learn too excited) man, i am just so excited about this dog.
i am sooo happy.
we have to still work out my excitement ( although i will climb a tree anytime for my dog) (HMM, HMM, not funny john, those were awfully small limbs, good grief) i am stoked though.
this pup wants that coon and knows how to use his nose. (so i been told)
skeet is still a pampered pet, sleeps with me and rides in the durango on his heated leather seat. just tell him to load in a dog box though. tail is gonna get ragged lookin and he starts shakin (not from fear).
i am happy about the bench show last weekend for the pa. coonhunters, but, man, nothin like hearing a pup wanting to work for you. when skeet talks to me, i certainly do listen and occasionally give some high fives (okay, alot of high fives).
JOHN , love you like a family member and you got some great dogs there. you deserve the credit you are due (so far, lol).
it is just writing, i forgot the camera last time oops again, but this guy put himself out to help us. man, we have some fun. and i have to repeat the fun. lord knows what the heck is going to happen when you unsnap those leads. sometimes it is not fun at the time but gives us something to laugh at later.
again, thanks john.

this dog gives me more smiles than......., i dont know what. this pup rules. if he didnt learn so quick, i might have a furrow in my brow, but skeet is gonna be a GENUINE COONDOG. he helps me now more than i help him.
now i understand a little more about pups. if they got it, follow. help, but dont lead. and always foster the need and want but dont lose patience.
thanks everyone.
cant wait til the next outing, could be another loner chronicles, good lord almighty.

That's great! Sounds just like my relationship with my Bluetick! I too am a bawl mouth fancier. We had a heck of a storm come through and I called the wife... asked her "you and the baby doing ok.... and my dog" lmao!

Thats great news! I love seeing folks excited over a young hound. Makes em want to coonhunt!! Get a young one doing good and you'll want to go every night! Maybe he'll be dual grand before long.
