Mines pretty tight mouthed..Always strike for 25 or 50. Dont open much but I like it. If ones red hot she barks a little more. I've hunted with some right the opposite though..I'd say they are a little of every kind..

I have a 9 month old granddaugter to rat attack. If you drag a hide around she isnt wide open she will open her and when she locks down a tree she will throw bawl 1 chop and another bwal and go into a steady chop.

the ones I have been hunting with were very, very, loud on the tree. All chop. Usually chop on track too.

and to answer the real question, they opened on track but not much.

Mouth.......................

I dont think there is a certain mouth on Rat dogs, I have seen them tight on ground, wide open on track, almost silent, but some of you dont realize that there is a bottom side pedgree (mother) that is throwing some of this in there also, it all doesnt come from just Rat.....................Tim

I have 3 rat females and they all open enough on track but not a lot and they all bawl or squall on the ground and chop on tree and all of them have a good but not over powering mouth..
