Sportdog Houndhunter 3225 (info)

Has anyone purchased this style of training collar? I purchased one back at the end of January and was wondering there opinion on it, Mine works fine with the test light and I have even held my palm to the contacts on (collar range 3) level one on the transmitter and it works. But when you put it on the hound it won't go through the hair, It won't even go through a wet pair of brown jersey gloves (I've tried it!!) So I called SportDog to see if they may have a different style of contact's, they're answer was it wasn't getting a good conact and to try shaving my dog's hair. I told the gentleman that I have tried this on 10+ hounds with the same results, do I need to shave all 10 dogs and he said that is a possibility (HA HA). I have tried the collar tight, lose, short contacts, long contacts all with the same results. If anyone has this style, FEEDBACK would be greatly appriciated!!!!!!

I have a 6 dog system and works fine.

What setting do you have the collars at?

The collars have 3 level settings in addition to the transmitter level settings.

1. Make sure your unit is off.
2. Then turn the unit on by pressing and releasing the on/off button.
3. After the Indicator Light turns off and within 5 seconds, press and hold the on/off button for 3
seconds.
4. The Collar Receiver will then beep once and the Indicator Light will flash orange. This indicates Low
stimulation range. If Medium or High are desired, continue to hold the button until the number of
beeps/orange flashes equals the desired stimulation range shown in the chart below.
5. Release the button once the desired range is selected; the Collar Receiver will turn off.
6. Turn the unit back on. It will then beep according to the stimulation range selected in Step 4.

1 beep Low
2 beeps Medium
3 beeps High

Hey Buckshot Thanks for the reply Yes I have tried it on all 3 ranges on the collar with the same result, do you ever have any problem with the contact's connecting through the dog's hair, clip my dog's hair every time I go hunting, HA HA HA HA.

No I have had no problem with them not feeling the juice......Just recently did an e-collar therapy session on armadillos with it.

My son's dog has a winter coat compared to our Southern dogs as his dog came down from the North back in January and there has been no problems with the contacts on his coat.
