Who's The Best " Dog Man " You Have Ever Been Around?.

For me it's two guy's LONNIE HARYE of TROTTWOOD, OHIO, and the other is STEPHEN ALLEN of STOCKBRIGDE, MICH., Both talked and acted cool and calm around people and dog's. Older guy's with a ton of knowledge, and both were H-O-N-E-S-T about the dog's they had. LONNIE was CHARLIE BOTKIN'S uncle, hunted with UNCLE LONNIE a ton, and still think about him. LONNIE hunted with JR. JACKSON and DOUG JACKSON when they had a female called SOCK- EYE ( ANN), and was good friends with MAX HARSHA (BIG GAME). STEPHEN ALLEN he was an A-1 beagle man, And when I get a dog problem, I think what would STEPH or LONNIE do?, Both have passed several year's.And are missed.

For me it was Jody Tarver from Lufkin Texas.
He was a dear friend, although at times we disagreed.
He would not mess with a hound that was under two years old, but sure turned out some fine Coonhounds.

Steve Hardy of Old Fields, WV. My uncle and best friend but cancer claimed his life at the young age of 33. Man hunted harder than any person I know. Ran dogs every night of the week except on Sundays. He was just one of those guys if the dog had it in them he would bring it out and wasn't a bit afraid to cull and not pass junk down the line. What a houndsman!! I miss him more than anything in the world.

Tom Solberg of T-Top Kennels in Wisconsin

I've known Tom now for about 9 years now. He is the best pup/dog man I know. He can take a pup that folks have messed with and couldn't get them to do anything and within a matter of weeks, he can bring out the best in that pup that no one else could.

Every dog that Tom has started for me has turned into a coon dog.

he has probably raised 25+ nt ch dogs the last 20 yrs. he is in his mid 80's and still goin strong. one thing you can bank on is if its a yr old and he's feedin it then it will tree its own coon and do it right

in western nc and some even in eastern nc knows Lyndsie Herman, he is my main hunting buddy at the young age of 79 and he walks every step up the same hills and mountains that i do

When you say "Dog Man", I'm thinking of someone who knows what a dog is doing everytime it barks and prolly when it isn't barking. Just a man who knows dogs. Marv Schmucker is the best dog man I know of.

And , to me , that would be my dad.

All you had to do was tell him when your dog opened , the first time , and , if you asked , he would tell you everything that dog was doing for the rest of the night.
