Judge is wrong. Unless they are obivously split treed, nobody moves up on the points scale. I bet dog A is the judges dog and B is very close on the card.LOL

I can recall back when my dog treed for 2nd tree and the dog with 1st tree left. I was sure my dog should move up to first tree. Glad I didn't insist. We all learn as we go. Every week, handlers are handed the card that would rather not, aren't sure about alot of rules and make what seem like some very elementary mistakes. It's all part of the learing process. I hope those that know the answers will step up and help out when nessessary in way that avoids embarassement.

Doubt anyone could say it any better!

Bill the latter part of my comment about the judges dog was meant as a joke. I too agree with Jim in his statement that those of us that know, should step up and help those that are in a learning state.

PS: Jim. How long should the learning state be? I have hunted with some that have been hunting 20 years my senior, and they will still say they are "new" and learning. Oh yes, i should mention that is their statement after they have been proven wrong by turning the card over and reading the rules. Real Fact is we are all still learning and none of us know it all. Could that be why the rules are carried with us on the back of each scorecard?

I'm sure glad I wasn't handling dog "B". 525 minus points on one tree seems a little excessive to me.

It's funny how quick an older hunter can quickly point out the location of a rule on the back of the card, and right before the call, be saying he's new at this game.
