I've always had Tri Tronics but will never buy another one. When they work, they work good. When they need repaired, Tri Tronics won't even repair them. They will refer you to Collar Clinic. In my experience Collar Clinic is TERRIBLE at repairs. I always have to count on sending a unit back in from 1-3 times to actually get it repaired correctly. I don't know what their problem is, but they just can't seem to get it done right, the first time.

I don't know if its a better situation with other collar manufacturers but I would sure look at the warranty and who would do the repairs. On the next unit I buy, I'm going to choose one based on warranty, and if the mfr. can actually support their own product. It won't be Tri Tronics.

I've had tri-tronics products for years. Had a bark collar that I broke when I replaced the battery 14 monts old called them and they told me to send it in and they would fix it, but the warranty was off. 10 days later received a new one from them with a note that it was close enough to the warranty so NO CHARGE. Had a 70 for about 3 years never had a problem, sold it to a friend when I up dated to a thrashbreaker. This fall my collar quit on me called them they said send it in and they would fix it. sent me a new collar. Cost me 60$ total had collar for at least 6 or 7 years. Have never told me to send a collar to collar clinic. Would recommed them above any other e-collars out there. Just my experence with tri-tronics.

I've gotta have a new one..I'll tell you what..It sucks when your 2 yr old decides to blister a deer and you get to within 800 yards and cant shock it I've always had tri tronics..I'm thinking of going with sportdog..The newest one they have out has a tone and vibrate feature..

I have the sportdog 3200 and I don't have any complaints. I had never messed with any brand but tri tronics til now, but I like the sportdog just as good so far. Had a friend of mine help me and we tested the range against tri tronics g3 2 mile range. They both shocked the same distance. Can't speak for longevity though I've only had mine for 3 or 4 months. Call conkeysoutdoors and bruce will treat you right.

I've had the 3200 Sportdog for about 3 years now. It has worked good and has range as good as or equal to TriTronics 2 mile shockers.

When I buy another shocker it will be another Sportdog.

My brother had the sportdog, went bad WHILE still under warrantee,1 and a half months left on warrantee,,,sportdog WOULD NOT honor the warrantee,,,said they were obsolete,,they quit making them,,,said they would sell him another and IF he sent his unit to them, they would knock off $50.00 off the new unit,,,he told them to stick it where the sun don't shine,,,he bought tritronics,,,hasn't had any problems,,that's been 2 years ago,,you couldn't get me to buy a sportdog

recently got alpha but for a long time used classic 70 and had trash breaker. hand helds worked great no complaints other than range isnt as advertised, but with all electronic stuff it never is.

problem i had with every collar after some time button got so hard to push wouldnt turn off or on or collars would turn off or on by themselves. with dogs always being in mud and everything else i think a magnetic switch like radio collars would have been nice.
