Bad Scare!!!
I went hunting last SAT . I took my cricket dog & noticed she started moving slower & slower. After 2 hours into the hunt she came to me stagering like she was going to fall over. I had to carry her out of the field .She is 8 years old going on 9. I got her home and brought her in the house . She looked bad . She sucked in super tight in the stomach and her back was arched real high. She looked like she was goin to die . She would not eat or dink. So I took and started giveing her sugar water by surenge . I gave here vienna sasuages she did eat a few of those. The next day was rough for her too.I did everything I could think of to get her up & moving. She did start eating can dog food & drinking water, now she is doing all beter. I put her on a antibiotic. The thing about it is, I have no idea what happend. She is up to date on shots & worming. I don't know if it happend cause she is getting old or if she ate somthing bad. I thought kidney failer at first, but if she is eating & drinking useing the bathroom good now,im just not sure. I just don't know? Has any one else ever had anything like this happen to them before?? Or any idea's ???

From what you have wrote, it sounds as if she had a blockage of sorts and may have got into a dead deer. Sometimes a raw piece of hide will get lodged quick. Also I have seen dogs act that way when they injure a disc in their spine. Im glad to hear she is doing better, but if it happens again, I would get a x-ray done on her to make sure its not a back problem. Any sort of intestine blockage would also show up with a x-ray. Id put some corn oil or code liver oil to her, and make sure she is cleaned out, then watch her close next time out. Your right, its scary when things like that happen. Good luck
