Lets Go Back In Time

On bad days I love to look and search, stir the pot a little, help post pictures, and have fun. I found this yesterday. Did you know why and when UKC was started.

Hey Thornie do u remember your first trial? Mine was in St. Louisville when they held them at Jerry Magers house, went with Ron Miller got beat by Ron's babe female. Heck u were probably there with hair lol

Posted by thornie on 02-02-2011 12:39 PM:

Well Roy, I really didn't get into the beagle side until late. My first hunt was at Coshocton, with my daughters $100 dog named Bushwacking Sadie. But when I had hair, this is what I was into. Hunted in NKC with this dog. NTCH Thornsley's Sping Valley Rex

I thought you knew Thornie, was proven to be my father by DNA... My Mom was drinking alot back then ( I hope) Best check your ped too, Roy. Thornie did some traveling back in the 50's when you were hatched! lol

Don't know if he was actually the first but Tri-W's Little Rocket owned by Randy Wyatt had to be close he ran ukc in the early years and pretty sure he finished in akc

General Hacksaw, Bill Sawyer I believe is the correct answer at least that what he always told me...lol

It was Randy Wyatt, but the dogs name was IFC HBCH Armando's Magic Sue. She finished on both ckc and ack large pack and ukc hunting beagle formats respectively.

The first 3 registry (AKC UKC ARHA) dogs were Tank and Syris, difference between them was, Tank arha progressive pack, and spo cottontail, and Syris arha little pack and spo and large pack, cottontail and hare. Sy also had a fourth tittle of CHB. that is Champion Beagle. It is when a akc hound wins a championship trial.

Another of my favorites is Branko's Pide Piper, who finished in UKC AKC and CKC all in large pack format.

Brinsky's Run-em-Over Tank

No tank never even ran in a little pack trial. He was progressive pack only, and finished that format as a grand. He was a HBCH in UKC.

Tank produced quite a few FC's in akc and ukc. I would have to say many more in AKC spo format. He was a conservative style dog with a good nose. His owner, Dan Brinsky, handled and promoted him very well in the trialing areas that suited him best, PBGA, & IBGA. He came from a good line of the Flat Creek Dogs, that also did very well in their type of trials. One of the more known UKC dogs sired by Tank, is Rocky Ridge Pardon My dust. Also a older male by him, took second at the UKC PP worlds this past October, Rocky Ridge Bad Boy.

Thornie, Rick and Roy

Thornie, It must have been something to be you in your younger years to have sired half brothers from two seperate dams in two seperates regions of our country and the dams name their boys beginning with R instead of an M. That was wise having the ladies NOT name them Max, but now the truth is out Ole' Swafford and Smokes' Creek Giermata have something other than beagles in common, their brothers from different litters he he he ha ha lol lol, I don't know which of the three of you to feel more sorry for.

Good Info you guys are posting, just had to pick a bit Thornie, Roy & Rick,

Have a good one,
Fred

Yep, that's funny but my dam didn't get the message to start my name with R ha ha lol lol. It would be hard to be brothers with Rick & Roy but there are worse things in the world.

Have a good one fellas and I hope to se ya guys at a couple trials this year,

Fred
