Rabbit Hunting
Have a couple of questions. I have coon hunted since I was 7 years old and have never rabbit hunted or been around it. My farm is over run with rabbits and briar thicket fields. My coon hound pups usually start running them when they are young. The area that I live in has a lot of beagle trials and I have been thinking about getting a beagle or two and let them chase these rabbits around the house, and maybe even attend a trial. I hear statemtents about holding a line and different other phrases and have no idea what they are talking about. Like I said I know nothing about rabbit hunting so if someone would take the time to give me the basics i would appreciate it. What is the object of the field trials? Im sure it is to have your dog up front but how do win? Please excuse my ignorance but you can't learn until you ask.
