Northern Winter Dog Coat Via the South Question
I acquired a 4 year old Michigan Basset over the weekend for my son to hunt with.
He has a thick coat winter compared to my southern Bassets for obvious reasons.
My question is do winter dogs coats adapt to the South where after shedding out in spring, his coat will not be as thick down here in the South during winter?
Or does it it depend on the dog.
First time I have ever brought down an adult dog from the North down here to the South.
IT DEPENDS ON THE DOG THAT I HAVE NOTICE

I am hoping his coat is not as thick come next winter down here.
