tight mouthed/open,and why

i got a tight mouthed female,and i love her,but i can't stand that she only makes a sound when she's treed,it drives me bonkers

I like a tight mouthed dog for the reason of seeing more coon in thin coon population area. First dog I ever hunted was real open on trail didn't see as many coon with him as I do with the dogs I have now.

I got

A 3yr. old female English.She hunts out real good but won't open her mouth until she knows she lookin' that coon in the ass.You might hear her bark once maybe twice before she blows the top outta the tree.Usually when she trees,she's got the meat.I love her til death do us part.LOL!!!

i won't lie she's young and she's treed by herself 4 coons,so i guess she's doin good,but dang it she don't say jack sh** till she's treed,i would just like her to say a tiny bit before,at least

I like them wide open. You can make an open mouth tighten up but you can't make a tight mouth dog open. I like to hear a good race for one reason. I like to comp hunt and an open mouth will get you first strike and tree easier. If it is any good. Just walking from tree to tree doesn't do anything for me. Might as well spot light them and leave the dog at home.
Hearing were they first smell the coon and listening to were they have to go and what they have to do to catch up with it and tree it is were all the fun is in it to me. If you listen to the bawls you can tell if there on an easy part of the track and makeing good time. You can listen to bawls that have ? behind them and you know they are haveing trouble. You can tell if there in the creek or on the bank. With out that it would be like going to the movies, watching the last 5 minutes and going home. Or a car race and just watch them go across the finish line and not see the race. If you like foot ball just watch the news. They will tell you who wins.
The best thing to do in this sport is to listen to two good hounds that give honest mouth start on an old track and warm it up and take it to the tree. I don't even give my dogs the coon if they don't have to work a good track to find it.

i like a open mouth dog hearing the chase is a big part of the hunt. my black and tan is open, but if the track gets tough he will shut up until he gets it moving again. a dog sound's good working a old track in 20 degree weather and no wind, find a log and enjoy. as far as seeing coon it might takes a little longer to tree them but i don't mind that.

I want the best of both, Get their mouth open the instant they smell con and from that point on about once every fifty yards and never open twice in the same spot unless the job is done.

I have a 5 yr old female that does nothing. But bawl on track she my bark close to you then the next tome she might be. 200 or more yards from you and open again. Depends on the track.

What kind of mouth would that be. She is silent but some times she wode open but not all they.
