Winter Classic?

I entered a dog in the Winter Classic. I got my papers confirming my entry, but it says there will be a public drawing of entries on Jan 13. What is the drawing for? Is my dog in the hunt, or is the drawing to decide which dogs are in the hunt? I signed up for both nights. Thanks!

I think they're talking about drawing the casts. I've never had a dog in the hunt but I'm sure that's what they're talking about. Someone who knows more will be on here soon .

They draw the dogs to casts in Kalamazoo at UKC. The public can watch the draw. Then the cards are took to Winter Classic and called out. You will get your cast number when you confirm your entry there.

Thanks Dale and Richard. I thought that it could be a drawing of casts, but was not sure.

I also have never been. I signed up this year and was told there are 250 dogs drawn each night any over 250 will be put on a waiting list. I was told by a UKC rep that in past years all slot were not filled. I may be wrong about this just what I was told.

There will be several who PRE-ENTER who will NOT show up for some reason or another, so they pull entries from the WAIT LIST to fill all those slots.

Almost a guarantee, that if your on the wait list that you will get to hunt..

Every hunter that has showed up whether on the waiting list or not has gotten to hunt. We dont plan on that changing this year. Just be sure and confirm on each day that you are to hunt before the deadline( I think 1 o'clock ).
