Decapitated

If they were decapitated and rest not eaten most likely a mink or weasel

..........

..........weasel.........

Posted by Todd M. on 01-05-2011 06:44 PM:

Well they all will !!

Coon will when she has babies.....
Weasel will eat the brains first.....
Owl will also but most likely carry it off....and or you will hear them or see them sitting around close to kill.

Fox, yote will carry it off.....

The answer given is from "Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens".

With the info given and not knowing about the ducks. The book is saying owl.

It's an owl if the head is gone and body still there.
Mink will kill everything and bite behind the neck close to the head. They usually drag their kill away or under cover.

There is a way to trap the owl but highly doubt it's legal...

if it's a owl

put ya a pole in the ground with a flat piece of wood on top nail ya a steel trap to the flat piece of wood if a owl is flying in and getting them 95% of time he will lit on that pole to check everything out first mess with game chicken's for yrs s\this is how we kept them out
