question about rules

Four dogs are cast and three are struck. One trees. we go to score the tree. Tree is scored and we go to walk a min. but the other dogs are a minimum of 30yds from the closed, scored tree. We werent sure what to do. the other three had treed that close by the time the tree was scored. should we have gathered the dogs back up and recast or turn the one dog loose on three that were treed. now these three dogs were never called treed. one of them hadnt even been struck. the dog that hadnt been struck, struck and treed during thee scoring of the original tree and it had a coon. What should have been done? Thanks.

even if the other dogs are plainly seen treed less than 30 yd away?

YES YOU SHOULD'VE RECASTED AFTER ONE OF THE TRAILING DOGS HAS OPENED IF NO DOG IS OPENING PUT THE EIGHT ON THE DOGS AND IF IT CATCHES THEM ALL STRIKE POINTS ARE AVALILABLE AGAIN.AND FOR THE HANDLER WITH THE DOG THAT IS OPENING AND NOT DECLARED STRUCK SHOULD BE WARNED TO CALL HIS DOG ON OR BEFORE THE THIRD BARK AFTER THE MINUTE ON EACH DROP. SECOND TIME HE DOESN'T DO THIS SCRATCH HIM AND SEND HIM HOME.

You are saying 2 different things here. 1st you said NONE were treed and then you said 1 was struck and treed while scoring the original tree.

Either way, handler has option to re-cut if 1 dog is still on trail.

why were you walking a minute? was this a ukc hunt?

If you have any dogs that are trailing and not declared treed you have to recast bottom line...

not if one is treed u then have an option

No minute walking rule in UKC. If one dog is called treed and one is still trailing, dog on lead has option to recast. If dogs are treed but not declared treed you have to recast because they are still considered on trail until they are called treed or the stationary rule has been applied and run out.

and the 1 dog is scratched for not being struck in on
or before the 3rd bark.

"the dog that hadnt been struck, struck and treed during thee scoring of the original tree and it had a coon. "

Didn't answer that because he said this "the dog that hadnt been struck, struck and treed during thee scoring of the original tree and it had a coon. " I don't fully understand if two dogs were on lead or not. If they recast the other dog then why would he ask the question about recasting his dog? The question doesn't make alot of sense. But if the other dog was not struck then it would be scratched for not being called on or before the third bark.
