Give me Reviews on Henry Survival Rifle

are they worth a poop? I see they only weigh 2.5 lbs but if they jam every other shot and cant hit a softball size target at 50 yard they aint no good for coon huntin to me.

i had one and loved it. put a little cheap scope on it. couldn't figure out how to put a sling on it though. its light and i didn't have a problem knocking coons out with it. Some one broke into the house and stole it couple years ago. wish i had it back.

Mr Williams you bring up something I wondered about. is that barrel thick enough not to bend if you looped like a shotgun sling over the barrel. its plastic with a steel insert

I'm sure you could do that with the barrel, but I don't know how you could do the "butt" of the gun. It's all plastic and not solid, so drilling a hole in it was outa the question. I didn't put alot of thought into it. I'm sure somebody makes something that would work.

I had a Henry survival rifle and used it several years. I always carried it disassembled. I wrapped a couple small, small bungee cords around the grip on the stock and used them to attach a lead snap to the stock. The snap clipped into a metal ring on my light belt. I then suspended the butt end of the stock with a second small bungee cord attached to my belt over my hip. The gun hung in a horizontal position in front of my light belt. The only gripe I had about the little gun is the butt cap shrinks when it is cold and can be a chore to remove with cold fingers. You pretty much need to assemble and disassemble the gun with bare fingers and cold is an issue. Eventually the butt cap cracked and the action fell out and I lost it. I don't think the gun would hold up to being carried ready to fire. The barrel and other parts are not sturdy. it shot well and I don't recall it jamming. I replaced it with a 1022 with a red dot scope.
