anyone ever have this happen

we were hunting last week and dogs fell "treed" down a steep river bank and sounded funny we finaly got to them and they were barking at a dead coon in a conibear trap the coon was still steaming and the way they ran the track it must have been a short time before the dogs found him that he got in the trap first for my buddy and me and a first to other hunters ive talked to they said they had dogs bay foot trapped coon but never dead coon anyone ever have this happen....by the way we left coon in the trap it was the trappers catch first lol

Treed a dead coon but not one in a conibear trap
Years ago dog was running a red hot track, came treed but just didnt sound right. She had ran a coon under a road thru about a 14 inch culvert or tube.Coon was caught in a connibear. It was around his belly by his back legs,He almost made it clear thru.

Ran a track for thirty minutes a month ago, dog fell treed, went in to a den tree that was 20 ft tall and open at the top with a dead coon laying in the bottom just starting to get cold. never have treed a trapped one though. You just never know what you will run into with these hounds when you cut them loose LOL
mabye they ran it into the trap, of the one they were after ran by that one?
