I have only had top storage, but being (not so tall)LOL!! I would love to have a bottom storage. It would be nice to pull the drawer out and be able to reach everything without stepping up on the bumper.

I've had both. Had a large box for a full sized truck. It was really nice. All equiptment where you could see it and easy to reach. It seemed like my dogs loaded easier. Maybe as they didn't have to duck down to load. I sold it as I bought a Ford Ranger so needed a smaller box. I am tall enough to reach all my equip. but can't if I use my F-150. Between the two I liked the bottom storage better. JMO.

Just bought a bottom storage Owens because the truck I was putting it in was too tall for a top storage. Makes all the difference in the world.

My sister won a bottom storage box at Autumn Oaks this year. LOVE IT!!! Would definitely get another one.

The only problem with the bottum storage is you tend to get dirt from the top in it. Other than that it's a winner

I have a bottom storage Owens and love it. Everything is easy to get to in it.

I really like the owens with the bottom storage and the one that has the extra tall compartments, I wonder if it looks awkward sticking that high up in the truck and I wish owens would put prices on there site

I've had several Heritage top storage box's and I wouldn't trade the Owens box I've been using for 2 yrs for a dozen free top storage box's. I cut carpet and laid in the bottom to keep guns and tracking equipment from being beat up. If you choose an Owens, be sure to get the pads, your dog will appreciate it.

had both, bottom for sure. Only problem, mine sits higher than my old houndsman deluxe so I can't see out the rear window very well.

I have a Unique top storage box and i really like it however i usually hunt out of an s10 but my wife has a newer f150 and it is a little hard to reach the lid to close it in her truck. Other advantage to bottom storage is the dog holes set a little higher so its easier for bigger dogs to get in and out of.

Posted by coonsmen on 12-29-2010 12:30 AM:

If I ever get the chance I will be buying a bottom storage. I'm 5'10 and I have a new f150. trying to reach everything with a truck that tall sucks.

Posted by RRbluehound on 12-29-2010 12:33 AM:

same problem here, except I'm 5'8 7/16 LOL
