Redbone Days-

Hey everybody! Been so busy with work I just got a second to check the replys to my last post. No word from Red Sunset. Huh. She must be afraid I'm about to take this........well.....coondawg and show her......aw I'll just save it. She know's I'm full of it anyhow.

There's a reason they got that in there about them white feet, Old Timer. They say anything about pink toes? I reread it a few times and I'm not sure I'll be throwing my hat in the ring on Friday for the bench show. But it looks like my spectating partner, RC is fixin to desert me. Traitor. Look forward to messin with your mind this weekend, old buddy. Hey, by the way, my Maxx pup is got my roll cage flat wore out. He's going to be a dandy!

Hey, anybody interested, slide on over to my camper on Saturday. We'll be fryin' up some some northern catfish and walleyes with a little gov't. beef and black bear trimmin's. I figure Donny's up for a pound or two. You southern boys best sharpen your blades cuz these ridge runnin bears up here take a sawzall to get thru the tenderloins. Better to eat em raw.

Sorry I won't see you boys at this one, Brent. Congratulations on the big win. You have a nice hound there. I'd feed him. See you at US Days in August. You boys ought to think about comin up here this fall. (All breeds welcome...hehe) I hope Leeman considers bringing Ruby back when she comes in. I hate to see a proven cross pass by. Life's too short! You boys got a good thing going down there. Glad we could be a part of it.

Nice talkin' to you the other day, Robert. I did look you up in the magazine. I see you aren't afraid to carry a real hound.

We'll be at Knock's on Wednesday for a pre-event get together. See you all at the big one!

Redbone Days Update

Last night was the all red hunt. We had 92 dogs. It was approximately in the 90's till pretty late in the night. No wind. Humidity about 75%-80%. I drove past the bank on my way home at 4:30 am and it was still in the 80's.

The cast I was on scored on one coon. They must not like the heat either. I'm not sure but I think the score to beat was in the 450 range. Have no idea how the Friday events went like the bench show. I stayed home in the a/c. I plan on continuing that tonight.

I got to my dog last night and he was just sitting there panting, flat out of gas. The first time I've ever seen that happen.

There are so many high quality, good people in this organization and if you hunt a redbone or are thinking of hunting one, I strongly encourage you to join up.

Also, the Mid-America coonhunters in Troy Iowa are doing a fantastic job. They have been taking people out pleasure hunting all week and are doing a great job in every way imaginable to make everyone feel welcome and going the extra mile to make this a very special event.
