14 years old and still treeing them
"HardRock Nocturnal Jeffery"
Direct by Nailor and a Merchants Tree Blaster Female.
Watching this old man fade away is sad, but we are still making memories with him and he can still run and tree a coon and do it right....Just not as fast.
BTW.The coon weighed 27lbs. A Monster for Tennessee.

these sites are loaded with pictures and stories of young dogs. i like seeing and reading about the old timers. they're the ones that make it for the duration and deserve the recognition. after all, isn't that what we hope for every time we get a puppy? thanks for posting.

So awesome!! I have a golden oldie that will be 14 in January. I agree with you when you say it is sad seeing him fade away, I feel the same thing in my gut. My old male is still in okay health but has kind of lost his mind, doggy alzheimers I think....Anyways, I loved seeing this post and pic.

Jeff is 90% deaf and has joint issues. I have him on a cocktail of vitamins and joint medicine. For his age, he is in pretty good shape. He still has his nose.

Do you have any pics of when he was younger? That's awesome if he can still tree coons at that age, not many can.

Yes he is looking good for that age and to still be doing it is great. . I had one that left me at almost 14 but I stopped hunting him at about 12. I thought I was hurting him more than helping him. He still wanted to go but I had seen enough. I thought enough of him to let him live out his life in the house. I have a picture of him that I have posted .. with him looking at me as if asking why as I loaded up the youngsters to go and left him there. I still think it was the best thing for his sake. He's been gone about four years now. I still think about it now when I look at the picture.
