Off Topic-Sleeping on the couch

Well, the boys and I have been running our Thanksgiving trap line. Again this year the competition is mighty strong with as many as 3 different trappers working the same ditch line or pond.

Today the weather got mighty cold with high winds and the wind chill in the teens. I wasn't sure if the critters would have moved before the cold front got here this morning or not.

Todays take was 2 male mink and 1 female mink, 2 coons, and 6 muskrats. So after drying and combing the catch we started to skin and put up the fur. Now, I have been doing this many years and I definately know better ... I started on the largest male mink. PSSSSS!!!! right smack dab straight full on right in my face!!!!!! I have washed my face several times, but I still smell like mink musk.

I think I will be sleeping on the couch tonight because I really don't want to get kicked out of my own bed ... which probably will happen if I try to crawl in between my sheets tonight!

Catch a female mink and put it beside the other half!! Rub her up some and you'll be good to go!! Sleep tight!!

scent removal

Mix up some peroxide, baking soda, and Dawn dish soap, mix into a thin paste and scrub with it, works great to remove skunk dont see why it wouldn't be just as good on mink.
