Garmin question

Does a Garmin come pre-loaded with any kind of map from the factory, or do you have to buy and load any and all maps seperate that you want? I don't own a Garmin but have been wanting one. Just doing a little research. Does the sd card come with the unit or is it bought seperate?

It does not come with it from garmin. Some suppliers ( Conkey's ) include 1 if you buy from them.

The Garmin comes with a preloaded map.. BUT it's not a topo map and without the topo it's not as usefull as far as letting you know if they are getting close to a back road. Most of the suppliers that sell them on here sell the sd card pre loaded with the topo for your area.

didn't get map card with mine. i mainly hunt ground i know and mainly use dog screen compass arrow and yards toggle between dogs easy to see i do have map card now and only use when i'm hunting ground i don't know
