first for me in ny wow
i was out last night trying to put some more fur in the freezer. I did a solid drop on the way home by a chicken farm and cut th dog 3 min later strikes good. he works the track in 5 mins and falls treed hammering. i hear yotes off in the distance which isnt anything new, i let him tree for a few min i get outa my truck get my gun ready and i look up the road and see eyes. they start coming towards me i think its a house dog runnin up the road then gets closer i see there red and it turns and its a huge huge yote. before i could shoot he goes into the woods towards my dog so i take off almost on a run and get over the barb wire and in about 100 foot and hes 150 yards from me i see the eyes starin at me. i pop off a shoot for the eyes and miss anotherand miss he wont even budge. i hear movement by my truck out on the road 4 more yotes come. they catch up with the first and they head for my dog at this point im goin as fast as i can but they got there first i got one more shot off at one , when they got there freddy turned to them and squared off they saw no food so they dispursed i get to the tree he wont bark till i get him goin again and im shinin the tree and they came back! so unlaoded the gun on them and got outa there. yes bad shooting but the guns a 22 i have had for 3 weeks i re did it its a marlin and i rebuilt it never shot that far w it sighted it in at 30 yards like a coon would be. today i bought a scope so game on , today my wife calls me at work and freddy is gone he dug a hole under his kennel then 8 o clock he came home maybe he wanted to find them lol , ive never had coyotes act like that they wernt afrade of me or the gun of the dog with a light on, from now on ill cary the 243 let the wife carry 22
Coyotes are picking up that coon hunters leads to a fresh coon carcass to fight over. They aren't stupid so that is why they are being so aggressive. Hungry coyotes learn new tricks real fast.
we are getting them more and more down here in va.i carry my 9mm and a couple extra clips with me,just in case
few dead
today i was off so i went to gander got a few tricks for those yotes and me and wife went out to off my coon spots and i called and she shined and i shot 3 down alot alot more to go
had a gd idea
i was thinkin tonight while were calling that tommrow night when we run the dogs , if the yotes come close then shoot coon put dead coon out in field and leave dogs in box howling and do a few distress calls the dogs and dead coon will get them yotes runnin in stupid
