Remember our 2009 billboard in Don Davis' district? In a long, hard process, we defeated SB#460 and Don Davis (and some other anti-hunting incumbents)! This is the good news.

The bad news is we will be fighting the Wildlife Resources Commission in 2011. Today at the WRC monthly meeting, acting Chairman Chuck Bennett said, "There is no Georgia Plan." The Big Game Committee did not propose anything on the Georgia Plan yesterday, and there was no full Board proposal today. They acted somewhat indignant about "those emails" (from us) accusing them of trying to grab power over dog hunting. I believe the elections deprived them of a "mandate". Yes, they lost momentum. BUT, THERE IS A CONTINUING SCHEME. Immediately after the Big Game Committee meeting yesterday, I witnessed Richmond Co.Commission Chairman Kenneth R. Robinette and Richmond Co.Manager Rick Sago arriving at the WRC Building for their private meeting with Exec. Director Gordon Myers. The Richmond Co. Commissioners voted on Monday, 11/01/2010 to be a "pilot project" for a Georgia Plan approach. MAKE NO MISTAKE. This is bad. The WRC is pushing ahead, but trying to work in camouflage. They want to appear innocently working with Richmond County on a simple dog hunting ordinance. However, based on many prior statements of David Hoyle, Jr., we know they are gathering ammunition for a big fight. The unelected commissioners and the bureaucrats want to wrest power over dog hunting from the elected legislators. WE WILL NOT SURRENDER! More later. Joe McClees
