Opinions on Garmin batteries

Which batteries are performing the best?
What about the lithium ion?
If using lithium how fast to they go down when they start to die?

Alot of people use the rechargables.

how long to the rechargeables last?

They last just as well as any other battery that I have used, that is if I don't forget to turn it off.

I just hate charging a light , collars , and then have to charge the Garmin, so I just buy a large pack of energizers at Walmart and go through them. I can buy a pack of 18 or so for a few bucks and they'll last me several months ( if I can rememeber to turn the dadgum thing off ) . Who all has forgot and left it on ? LOL

I generally hunt 3-4 hours a night and a new set will go for 5 or 6 hunts before I have to change them. That makes the 18 pack last several months.

Rechargables are fine , but its another thing to charge up .

Thanks for all the help. One more question can you change the batteries while hunting if the dogs are out and the batteries get weak? Will you loose you gps on the dogs?

I just recently got a Garmin

I bought a 20 pack of Duracell copper top alkalines. Not rechargeable. 2 batteries lasted 1 week, but I had it turned on alot learning all about it. Still had one bar left.
A friend uses the same batteries except rechargeable and he charges after every hunt. 4 batteries have lasted over a year.
Once I've used up all the alkalines I'm goig to try the Duracell rechargeables.
