Womack Bluetick Pedigrees

I am trying to put together a database of all the late Al Womack’s Bluetick hounds out of Kansas City MO and need a little help.

I was wondering if anyone had any Womack Hound pedigrees they would share or give me a copy of and any information on any of the hounds in the pedigrees.

Also looking for anyone who may still breed or have any of his hounds.

You can e-mail me if you wise

Thank you

Steve WV

Al Womack

Hello,
I hunted with Al Womack for about 10 years back in the late 70's and early 80's. I have quite alot of pictures of Al and his hounds. He had some of my lines in his bloodlines in the Hickory Creek line. We cooperated in several breedings of Breedlove's Warjar which was out of OO Grant's last litter. I also owned a daughter from Al Burch's Walnut Valley Warhoo which was a littermate to Warjar. I was just about 19 at the time I started hunting with Al and hunted with him until I was about 29 when I left the sport. It will be hard to find the type of hound that Al produced as most of his stock will have been crossed with Blue's that would not meet his specifications for the Big Blue's. He had some fine hounds. I once knew of a gentleman in Union Star, Mo. that had a daughter out of Walnut Valley Warhoo and Walnut Valley Lena that weighed in at 125 lbs. He was Huge. I have a pic of him I beleive. Anyway, I had some great times with Al Womach, Al Burch and Ted Brown. They were all fine houndsmen. I live in Princeton, Mo. Thanks, Richard

One of the prettiest dogs of the past that I've seen in pictures was Bell River Blue Cher -- Warhoo x Walnut Valley Joannie.

Big Blues

I have a picture of Cher when she was around 1 year old. Too bad there are not more breeders of these big blue's around. Not many breed to the standards that the old breeders adhered to. Then again it is hard to locate good unrelated blue's to breed to that do meet the standards.

Never met Mr Womack but my cousins knew him well and always hunted his line of dogs....They where all Big Blues and never had much brown or tan on them. I always gave them crap about them not being Blueticks and being Gascons....they would get fightin mad!!! LOL

I'll ask and see if they have any old pedigrees.

Just checking to see if anyone new on here might have any information on the late Al Womack's hounds or Bob Jacob's out of VA.
