Anyone have any suggestions on how to put/keep weight on a dog? I have one here i'm the whole time struggling to keep any weight on her.

Best thing I have found is go to a butcher shop and get some meat scraps. I like deer scraps during season as you get lots of good meat . I cut meat up in small chunks and I have an old crock pot and cook them over night with quite a bit of water. I pour over dog food and let cool. This is the quickest way I know of to put weight on a dog. During deer season I will get as much deer meat I can and freeze it in small packages. I also use beef scraps if I can't get Deer, but it's usually mostly just fat but work if cooked to. I f you know a trapper that traps Beaver that will fatten them up quickly to. Works good for me hope this helps.

I use a lot of bacon grease when season is in to keep weight on them. I mix it with their food and they love it. I use it more as a reward than to keep weight on. Make sure the dog is wormed good would be my first try though.

Make sure dog is clean of worms..
Feed a high Fat low fiber based dog feed and with NO soybean..
Everyone worries about protien instead of the actually ingredience. A high fat will put the weight on and a low fiber NO soybean when keep the food in the dog longer in other words less crapping.. The higher the fiber and soy bean based feeds will cause your hound to over crap instaed of weight gain... Trust me I have tried it all... Hope this helps..

Give her 4 pieces of white bread a day for a while. Old oil from the local fish house works good to. I've got a young dog that is so hyper, he burns off his weight fast.. I'll slip him deer trimmings and table scraps over the winter to help him work harder....

AUTUMN
GET SOME COTTAGE CHEESE AND GIVE IT TO THE DOG 2 TIMES A DAY 3/4 A CUP EACH TIME. IT IS GOOD FOR THEM AS WELL AS EASY ON THEIR INTESTINAL TRACT. ONCE SHE GETS TO WHERE YOU WANT HER WEIGHT WISE, CUT HER BACK TO 1/2 CUP 2 TIMES PER DAY AND SHE WILL MAINTAIN HER WEIGHT.
