I have never participated in one but the way it was explained to me is everyone entered hunts and trys to bring in one coon or possum for each tag that they buy. After the deadline, their is a drawing from a hat that has several different numbers written on pieces of paper and the coon or possum that comes closest to the weight that is drawn is the winner.

do you draw casts or hunt alone with a guide

Mr. Sawyer, I am not sure about how that will work. You need to call the president of the club Wayne Branch at 910-536-7841 to get all the details.

no u do not draw out u hunt your own spots and you bring back the amount of coon or possum tags you purchased and we weigh them and draw the weights out of a hat and the closest one wins we will have a set deadline to meet back at the club for weigh in

I heard from the club president today and he said that if someone came from out of town, the club would match them with a local guide but if someone came from out of state, the club would not be able to get a field trial permit for this hunt and the individual would be responsible for getting their own NC hunting license.
