Congrats Youth National Show Winners

WOW Youth Nationals was a BLAST!! I would like to congratulate all the kids that participated in the show, hunt, treeing contest and water race! There were 95 dogs in the show. Not sure about the other events.

2010 Youth National Overall Show Champion
Melinda Hicks & GRCH West Fork River Rumor Has It!!
WAY TO GO MELINDA!! Rumor looked great as usual!!

Best Male of Show
Chase Hooks and Elburns Gringo - American Leopard Hound
Thanks Andi so much for allowing Chase to handle Gringo at this event. He is truly an outstanding Leopard Hound! Several people told me this is the first time a Leopard has taken a BOS at a National Event. If that is true I am SO happy Chase could be a part of that!

Best Female of Show
Taylor Hooks and Good News Black Magic Spell - Plott Hound

Champion Male
(I am sorry but I can't remember). My son was having trouble with his dog and I missed the winner.

Champion Female
Peyton (Mike Seets Grandson) and Little Bo Peep

Grand Champion Male
Melinda Hicks and Rumor

Grand Champion Female
I am sorry but I can't remember the handlers name but a Redbone Female was the winner.

If you know the other winners names please list them. I am sorry for not being able to remember them all. Congrats to all the class and breed winners as well. It was great to see everyone and all the kids again.

Priscilla

Congrats Priscilla on your children's wins! To go home with 2 of the 6 category wins is an awesome accomplishment given the number of entries and quality of dogs. I know you are very proud!

The Champion Male winner was an English male handled by Gabby Harvey all the way from the great state of Texas. I'm sorry I don't recall the dog's name but I like the angulation and nice feet on that male dog! :-)

The Grand Champion Female winner was Alexa Heiser and her Redbone Female, "Witchy Ann" maybe is her name??

I thought the 95 entries in the show was super fantastic given the hot, hot, HOT weather!!! ...did I mean how HOT it was...LOL!

Nice call on UKC's part getting that big tent set up...it was just what the doctor ordered.

The Dan River Coon Club have always put on a quality event and I thought they did a great job hosting the event.

Melinda Hicks is a super nice young lady and her male dog is Top Notch as well. I was happy she won Overall! Well done!!!

Oh...and I wanted to add that Lisa Beddingfield did an awfully good job as bench show judge. She was thorough without going extra long. She paid each child a proper amount of inspection time and complimented them individually at times I noticed. Class act.... Good decision making her the judge!!!

Congrats to all the winners! My kids and I had a nice time out there and I was happy for all the winners!!

Yes Penny I was BEYOND proud! After they won BMOS and BFOS - I was ready to just pack up and leave! LOL! Heck, Chase's best of breed win with his redbone was worth the trip!

Yes Lisa did an amazing job! She even took time to speak to each child she didn't pick and acknowledge their efforts in handling their dogs. It's the little things that go so far these days and she definately did that!

I can't say congrats enough to Melinda. We are all so proud for her! It was so nice to see you Penny (and Jody). Even though it was a short visit it was still a good one. Maybe we can spend a little more time at Autumn Oaks.

Priscilla

A BIG Congrats from us to all the winners!!!! The youth and thier dogs did a tremendous job considering the extreme heat. I was very proud of all of them

Follow this link to see the pictures I took from the Youth Nationals.
I tried my best to get a variety of youth and dogs but it was hard to get good ones of everyone the way the lighting and set up was in the tent. Hope you enjoy!!

Priscilla thanks for posting the winners. I was wondering how it finished up. I hate we had to leave but that 3 week old baby boy was giving moma a fit. She was stuck at home with a 18 month and 3 week old. It was bad.

Congrads to all the winners, we had a great time and look forward to next year.

Lisa did a great job. UKC did a great job as well.
