-- What a farce. (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=361679)

What a farce.

The hearings for the new Supreme Court nominee strike me as being completely worthless. They should waive the hearing and just go straight to the confirmation vote. The nominee's always just say whatever they know they must say to get confirmed. Justice Sotomayor is a perfect example. In her confirmation hearing when ask about the Heller case (2nd Amendment) she stated she agreed the court was right in agreeing with Heller. Then when the same basic case came up with her on the court, she turned around and voted against MacDonald. Which is what everyone knew she would do anyway. So spare us the lies and deceit and just get on with the vote.

Absolutely. You'll never get one to say they disagree with any former decision: for respect of the institution. You won't get one to take a stand on anything because they are scared to divulge their political and philosophical leanings. But all that crap is over once they vote once on something plain and simple. They become as predictable as the sunrise (and set).

YEP if you took all the liars out of our government though we would't have any left. LMAO
I have allways said they are professional liars but if they are they sure aren't very good at it..............but then I guess you don't have to be if nobody has the balls to call you on it.

I've got to agree that these things are largely worthless. They are more of a political event and sideshow than anything else.

The candidates are pretty much always "way more qualified" to interpret the law than the politicians that vote on them (especially non-lawyer politicians).

What's worse is that this process has become a "Made for TV" event, and people that have no clue and no training, in interpreting and applying case law, form an opinion based on politicians and political commentators rhetoric. How stupid is that?

It's sort of like being a doctor, and having someone that's read health articles and seen commercials, make judgements about your ability to practice in your field. My biggest peeve here are the drug company commercials that basically instruct people to tell their doctors what drugs to prescribe for them.

Yea that eating thing they have come up with lately is killing me. First drinking, then smokeing and tax the crap out of everything after they get public opinion against them. Witch isn't hard. All they have to do is say it cost us more in tax dollars becouse of the health cost and everyone jumps on board.
BUT now it is fatning food. Less food, same cost, cheaper made food, same cost. Wonder who is really behind that crap. LOL
We just need to go to a dictatorship. Then we only have one to kill when he tries that crap and we know who it is. LMAO

If "qualified to interpret case Law" qualifies one to arrive at erroneous, even blind decisions, Then so be it .I'll be the judge of that because I am a juror.

She is on the record comparing the NRA to the KKK, endorsing the bannning of books, and is a hardcore leftist radical.

Obama is placing people as radical and Anti American as him in to positions of power and authority. The sad thing is she is in there for life is she gets the nod.

Listening to Obama's rant against the Constitution and the Declaration of Indep. today made my stomach churn.

This man is dangerous.

Actually, Obama supporters have already asked for that to happen.
