Help with a name... got a registered name, need a call name!

These are two pups we are hoping to keep and raise up from our current litter... they are only 3 weeks old, so nothing's set in stone yet, lol

The red male is likely going to be
'PR'SMM MAIN STREET JOHN WAYNE
and the blue female
'PR'SMM MAIN STREET DARK HORSE.

The male we think we'll call "The Duke," but I can't come up with anything to call the female. For those of you who don't know, a dark horse is basically an underdog or little-known contender who unexpectedly rises to the top... Her name can be related to this, or it can be horse-related...

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Chance.........if she comes from behind every one will say she doesn't have one.
Nag...............an old nag doesn't have much of a chance and if you get cought calling your wife one you can say you were talking about the dog.
Allso you might llok up some of John Waynes girl friends and horses. Then pick one of those.

Personaly I would call it the registered name becouse in comp. hunts that is what goes on the sheet and you have to call it what is on the paper. If you say strike Shep and it is Sandy on the paper it won't count till you get it out of your mouth right. It will make you loose if your not careful.

Actually, you don't - as long as you tell the judge what your dog's name is before the hunt begins, it doesn't matter what's on thier papers.

I have Smoke 'n Moonshine - her name is Shy - and I have Mayhem on Main Street - his name is Heckler. Never had a problem calling my dogs in the hunts... I've only hunted UKC, though - I don't know what it's like in PKC.

Yea I know, it is just you have to remember to do that. So the juge can right it out at the side of it's real name or try to remember what you call it. So when I decide on a name I just skip all the trouble and call it what I name it.

the john wayne dog..... dont call him duke ever thought that john wayne's nick name......thats a dumb name i think even for john wayne...... i like john wayne just as much or more as anybody maybe look atrsome of his movie names...maybe call him rooster

He was called the Duke bc of his love for his dog, Duke... I'm not crazy about the name Duke in general, but we'll see... Like I said, nothing's set in stone yet
