Need A Serious Opinion On This WALKERS PEDIGREE??

I got one of the most nicest Male Walker Pup I have ever encountered. He was a natural from the first night in the woods. He has the brains, looks, and mouth to go with it. For the first time in my life I am considering the Stud dog world with this 17 month old pup, here is his pedigree do you feel that this dogs pedigree being Granded Out will possibly be able to break into what I consider harder than winning the world hunt and that is being a successful stud dog.

Gr Ntch Stylish Hic Nut Harry

Grnt ch crow and grants Cutter
Gr Nt Ch Nite Heat Abby

GrNTCH DOhoneys Dizzy
Grntch Rock River Sack Jr

GrNTCH GR CH STYLISH STACEE

Grntchgrch Schemrsals
Stylish Lacey

Stylish Hayes

Grntch BAlls Stylish Hic nut Harry

Schmersals Stylish Anna

Grntch pr Kenneys Stylish Chic

Nocturnal Nailor
Grch Gr Ntch Pr Huffs Nocturnal Rose

Grntch Abbots big
Horn Daisy

Rocks an all Grand pedigree being out of Dizzy and Chic.

What do you think?

There's a world of difference in "old" Hickory Nut Harry and Balls. The only questionable stuff is prior to Sackett Jr. and of course Jr. removed all doubt about that part.

He's 17 months old so breed him to the best females that will let you. It might even be agood investment to Pay a breeders fee to breed a good enough bitch that the pups are sure to get into the right hands. That way if he Grands out, you just "might" have some hot offspring to point to. If you wait till he Grands out what you will have is just another UnPROVEN Grand Nite. Also, if he Grands out and he has already shown that he can't throw jack, you won't go ahead and make afool of yourself. Good luck with him.

I agree with l.lyles comment about breeding him to a high caliber female right away. But if you want to prove he is a stud dog, yougotta breed him to something worthless too. To really be a top stud, they gotta reproduce when crossed on poor quality females too. That was the magic of most of our top studs today- you could breed rat, jr or nailor to anything and get a coondog. When we were breeding Tucker a lot, in almost every litter he threw there was at least one pup that was significantly better than their mother.

We are starting to agree very often. In fact I have a worthless one he can breed for free. Maybe he can put some comeback in them. She's even similarly bred. Not as well, but similar.

What are his littermates doing? Do they have the same qualities he does? I would think his chances of being a top stud dog would increase if he is from a top performing litter.

They would IF his littermates ever got hunted, when to coonhunters, went to coonhunters that have half a brain. Let's face it, alot of them don't.

Rocks mom only had one litter and died shortly thereafter in that litter was Rock and another one only 2 in the litter and I was told that it's dead so Rock is the only living pup that is out of That litter!
