what age would you start breacking a pup for the chain and show his first coon thanks for reading
depends on the pup. i will show my pups there first coon around 4-5 months sometimes 6 month.

I like to have my pups on the chain by three months. When I had/have a bunch of dogs I would drag the cage coon through the dogs as I fed up in the evening. When the pups were baying hard at it I then take them off the chain for some one on one work. By six months all mine are usually running in the pen. I take them to the woods at around nine to ten months. They get to run thier first bear/hog by twelve months. Coon only pups I start to work at around nine months in the woods.
