Hard tree dog ?

What is a hard tree dog to you? I read all this 100-120 barks a minute every time it is mentioned.
To me how many barks a minute doesn't have anything to do with a hard tree dog as long as it gives 12 barks a minute and stays on the tree threw hell and high water. The rest of the barks are just heating up the dog in the summer time and a waste of energy the rest.

A real TREEDOG to me is the one that you know will be there no matter how long it takes, i dont care if they only bark 30 a minute as long as i know they are there to stay no matter what. I wonder what one of these 120 barks a minute dogs sounds like after about 4 hours.
I was in a hunt last week and my bluetick female got treed deep and had to stay 40 minutes before we got to her tree, and she was down to a bark about every 10 seconds and had some bark off the tree, but she stuck and that coon won the cast for her TREEDOG.

I agree. All it does is heat the dog up I have a male walkker that if you didn't know he did it you'd think he was a pos. He will throw one long bawl about evry 2 to 5 mins at tree in summer now in winter he steady chops

Okie...A hard tree dog does exactly what the term implies.."IT TREES HARD".

A dog that stays trred "come hell or high water", is a 'STAY PUT TREE DOG".

I have had some "hard tree dogs" that wouldn't "stay put", and I have had some "Stay put's" that wouldn't "tree hard".

I like a little of both.
