keeping my dog hydrated

i've got a dog that just about always sounds hoarse and dry. even after just his first throw. we don't hunt when its too hot out its normally been about 60 to 70 degrees at night. i've watched him and just hardly ever drinks water. he normally only does after he eats which isn't enough i guess. even when he's been barking and sounded dry in the woods he won't drink out of a creek if you walked him to it. i know its not just his sound because i've heard him when it isn't dry also. does anyone know any ways to get him to drink more so his throat isn't so dry.
thanks.

We take our dog bowls and jugs of water with us. And give them the option to drink after every drop buy actually putting the water in the back of the box with them. We have one that drinks like there is no tomorrow and others that only drink a little bit.

He may be ugly but he looks good on the wood.

Add water to his feed, same as winter time. There are several ways to check hydration. Over hydrating can be tough on them to.

I keep a pool in my dogs kennal. He can go swimmin and drink. Right after huntin he runs right to the pool lays there and just drinks. Might be worth a try with yours. My dog had kennal cough and very dehydrated I shot him up with penicllion and put that pool in there and all that went away
