to make nite champion

does a dog have to be cast winner in all nite hunts or can they get points for like second or third place as long as they come in with plus points

No you have to win your cast with plus points to earn points towards your degree.

You need a 1st place win and 100 points to earn Nt ch. degree. a 1st is worth 40 pts. 2nd is 35 3rd 30 so on. Have to win your cast with plus points to get the wins.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong,but you need 100pts+1rst place win to be titled Ntch.Win your cast with +pts then go back to the clubhouse to see where you placed.1rst=40pts,2nd=35pts,3rd=30pts,and so on.No matter how many pts you gain,you have to have at least one 1rst place to be titled.Once thats acheived,you advance to Ntch cast where you will need 5 1rst place wins to be titled GrNtch.There is not any 2nd,3rd or so on in this class.The rules are almost the same other than in the reg. class,any dog struck or treed in caught running off game will be minused pts,in the Ntch class any dog caught running off game will be scratched!

ok so two weeks ago i was winner of cast and high scoreing dog so i got 40 points last night i was in a cast and was in third place with 100 plus points when we returned so do i get points for 3rd place or does just the cast winner get the points

You must win your cast it doesnt matter if you got 1200 + points if you dont win the cast you dont get a win to NITECH

As to the cast, there is only the winner. There is no 2nd,3rd,4th in the cast. There is only the winner of the cast. Many cards don't even show the scores of the other dogs, just the winner.

They do give out more then one nite ch spot at most of your larger events. After twenty nite ch entries they will place a second nite ch. Then after 40 entries they give three nite ch spots and then over sixty they give five nite ch spots. Like I said, this usually only happens in the bigger events.

years ago you could get points if you did not win your cast and was second in your cast you may place 8th or so on in cast. they changed all of this. said there were two many cheap nite champions. i still feel there are cheap nite champions. maybe if they would go back to the old way, they may get more participation in hunts.
