Stupid question.

I have kennels that go inside to a 5x5 area where the dog box, food and water go, the outside run is 5x10. i have a 5 1/2 month old pup that likes to $hit inside in the 5x5 area where her box, food etc are. when she did this i would throw the mess out to the 5x10 area and leave it for a day or two hoping she would smell it out there and get the drift, i did this for a month or so now..... didn't work. so i boarded up the inside, put a box out there for her that way she had to go outside, i figured i would do this for a month to see what happens....well, after 3 days i went out there tonight and she $hit in her frickin box!! what the heck? is she that stupid or what??? i have shown her 2 live coon and she does really good on them, she broke to lead and listens real well. so i don't think she's dumb, but what in the world is she doin? any ideas.

I'm no coondog training expert, but i've read alot about crate training dogs. Their sleeping area should be just big enough for them to turn around in. This would discourage them from $hitting in their sleeping quarters. I have Crate trained a great dane which can leave a great $hit. You learn quick.

5 1/2 months old is more then likely is what the problem is. a puppy is a puppy the tend to do stuff like that sometimes.
